I’ve written a column-turned-blog for the Rockford (IL) Register Star and rrstar.com for 20 years, and for 15 years before that. When I left the legacy newspaper business in May 2011, I kept up my rrstar writing.

Writing is a disciplined task. Take a break and it’s almost impossible to get back to daily writing. Even when one has nothing to say, it’s important to put those fingers on the keyboard and make them do something.

When Key West Watch opens officially in 2012, I’ll weave more Key West content into the site. For now, I’m using KeyWestWatch.com as a way to keep up that discipline of writing.
